When Dental Experience Counts
Dr. Leslie Blackburn has always wanted to work with children, but she wasn’t entirely sure in what capacity. She just knew she loved them and wanted to see them smiling!
Following graduation from Brigham Young University in 2003, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Dr. Blackburn decided to spend a few years contemplating exactly how she would serve the children she loved so much. After much soul searching and research, she decided that pediatric dentistry was the surest way to help kids grin, giggle, and laugh to their fullest and headed to Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery as well as a Masters of Science and Dental Education in 2012. She completed the final leg of her dental education in 2014 at Yale University where she received a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Blackburn, her husband, Houston attorney Shawn Blackburn, and their two children love living and working in the community. She is a real bookworm, enjoys dancing, lifting weights, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her family.
