Why Are Your Woodlands Dentists Talking Babies and Baseball?

added on: October 6, 2021

As your Woodlands dentists, we care about our community and those who call this beautiful part of Texas our home. We care for your oral health, but for your overall health too — especially when it comes to the smallest of smiles or tiniest of teeth.

We recently heard about a special charity, local to our area, called Baseball for Babies™. Their mission statement is quite simply this: “Together, we can bring more babies home!” Join us in taking a little break from total tooth talk in this latest blog installment, and learn more about how they’re giving back and how you can do the same at their upcoming November 7th Boots & Babies Gala.

What is Baseball for Babies™?

Angelica Sinisi Amaro, founder of Baseball for Babies™, was devastated with the rest of her family when her niece McKenzie passed away due to complications from being born prematurely. Amaro made it her mission to save as many premature babies or “preemies” as possible in McKenzie’s memory.

McKenzie was born in 2008 at only 28 weeks and was the first grandchild on Amaro’s side of the family. For a total of 19 days, brave McKenzie fought a fierce battle for her life before she went to live with the angels. From that moment, Amaro knew all she wanted was to help preemies in any way possible and concentrate her efforts to help save all preemies. And Baseball for Babies™ was born.

How Can They Help?

Fast forward to today, and Amaro has done more than kept her promise to McKenzie and her family. She’s got countless other people helping her, and together, they have been able to assist with opportunities to fund research, purchase valuable medical equipment, and help families financially. Do you know what’s extra special about Amaro’s efforts? She’s created a true people’s charity, where 100% of donations go directly to the cause. “They donate every dollar, 100% of the proceeds, to help the babies, their parents, medical equipment, and for research to eventually save 100% of the babies.”

How Can You Help?

Mark your calendars for the November 7th Boots & Babies Gala at Dosey Doe – The Big Barn. The Scooter Brown Band will highlight the evening with what will surely be a must-see musical experience. You’ll have the opportunity to meet Major League Baseball players — Lance Berkman and Anthony Rendon. (And there may be some other surprise guests as well!) Tickets have been selling fast, so make sure to get yours here
